The implant market has considerably increased in the past few years due to the increasing acceptance of patients. The number of implants has doubled to nearly 5 million between the years 2000 and 2005. Implant-retained restorations are only successful if all the clinical and technical products are perfectly coordinated with each other and the superstructure is fabricated with correct dimensions. An aesthetic and functional implant-retained restoration is based on sound preparation and execution of the prosthetic work supported by a planned surgical treatment. The interesting case report by the team of Dr. Prinz and Christoph Zogler from Austria shows how they have solved a difficult patient case.
